Hip-hop legends Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have teamed up again, and the reunion has already made waves. Their new single, “Gorgeous,” featuring R&B singer Jhené Aiko, debuted at No. 29 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart (dated Nov. 16), marking the duo’s first chart appearance together in over a decade.
A Historic Reunion
The last time Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre shared space on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart was in 2011 with “Kush,” a Dr. Dre track featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon. This latest collaboration, bolstered by 3 million U.S. audience impressions during its first week (Nov. 1–7), has been embraced by key radio stations, particularly WHHH-FM in Indianapolis, WIZF-FM in Cincinnati, and KRRL-FM in Los Angeles.
“Gorgeous” not only highlights the enduring chemistry between Snoop and Dre but also brings Jhené Aiko into the mix, adding her signature ethereal style to the track.
Chart Milestones
Snoop Dogg: Earns his 69th credited appearance on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
Dr. Dre: Marks his 34th chart entry.
Jhené Aiko: Secures her 16th chart hit, extending her streak of at least one charting song every year since her debut in 2013 with Big Sean’s “Beware.”
For Dr. Dre and Aiko, “Gorgeous” represents their career-best debuts on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. Snoop Dogg narrowly missed matching his top debut rank, set in 2018 when he guested on Lil Duval’s “Smile (Living My Best Life)” at No. 28.
A Prelude to Missionary
“Gorgeous” is the lead single from Snoop Dogg’s upcoming album, Missionary, slated for release on Dec. 13. Produced by Dr. Dre, the album marks their first full-length collaboration since Snoop’s 1993 debut, Doggystyle. That album, alongside Dre’s The Chronic (1992), solidified the West Coast’s dominance in hip-hop during the ’90s, producing iconic tracks like “Gin and Juice” and “What’s My Name?”
Expanding Airplay Reach
In addition to its No. 29 debut on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, “Gorgeous” also entered other airplay-focused charts:
No. 34 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
No. 26 on the Rhythmic Airplay chart.
The Legacy Continues
The collaboration between Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Jhené Aiko showcases the timelessness of the West Coast sound while blending in contemporary R&B elements. As anticipation builds for Missionary, “Gorgeous” serves as a reminder of the duo’s unparalleled impact on hip-hop and their ability to evolve without losing their essence.
