Slipknot Unveil New Song ‘Birth of the Cruel’

On Monday, August 5th, Slipknot unveiled “Birth of the Cruel,” the third single from their forthcoming album We Are Not Your Kind. The track debuted as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1.

The song follows the band’s previously released singles “Solway Firth” and “Unsainted.” The 14-track album is set to arrive Aug. 5 via Roadrunner Records, and the band will be touring the U.S. now through October 11th.

“Remember how you spent the best part of forever in a state of pure disease/ It was another thing altogether to forget that you brought out the worst in me,” frontman Corey Taylor sings. The song also comes with a vertical video, which features glitchy shots of the members in their distinct masks.
