Slipknot Plans Intimate Gigs for 25th Anniversary of Iconic Debut Album

Slipknot, the famed metal band known for its aggressive sound and theatrical performances, is setting up a series of intimate concerts to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking self-titled debut album. The band recently announced new tour dates, including a historic headlining performance in Mexico City this November, alongside other stops in Mexico and previously announced dates in Europe.

In a twist that reflects their non-conformist roots, percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan shared with Kerrang! that these anniversary shows would not only revisit the 1999 album in its entirety but also come with a unique approach aimed at ensuring the band and fans alike can revel in the experience. “We’re going to play that album from beginning to end,” Crahan declared. “But it’s not going to be the usual commercial spectacle. Expect smaller, surprise shows where if you hear about it, it’s probably already too late.”

Adding to the intrigue, Crahan teased the integration of a new drummer and hinted at new material in a recent interview with Knotfest Australia. However, he clarified that fans should not expect a traditional album but rather a series of creative outputs that celebrate the band’s legacy. “We’re having a really good time right now,” Crahan stated, indicating that these events will be more about creating memorable experiences than just performing hits. With the promise of new masks, new music, and potentially very limited-capacity shows, Slipknot is ready to offer a unique celebration of their iconic album’s milestone.
