After Hurricane Helene forced a cancellation of their highly anticipated headlining set at the Louder Than Life festival, Slayer fans were left disappointed — but the festival has announced a new opportunity to see the iconic metal band live. Louder Than Life organizers confirmed that Slayer, who was scheduled to play just three reunion shows in 2024, will return next year for a second attempt.
“We can’t wait to welcome fans back to finish what we started this year and celebrate the return of Slayer,” Danny Wimmer of Danny Wimmer Presents said in a statement, adding that more lineup announcements are expected this winter. The 2024 festival will take place at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville from September 18-21.
This year marked Louder Than Life’s 10th anniversary, drawing thousands of rock and metal fans. With the promise of Slayer’s return and new acts to be announced, next year’s event is already generating buzz among fans.
