Legendary guitarist Slash has reignited fans’ hopes by revealing that a new Guns N’ Roses studio album is in development — even if the timing remains vague. In a candid interview with Guitar World, Slash said the band has accumulated “so much material at this point,” but admitted the real hurdle is finding the discipline to focus and turn ideas into a cohesive record.
He emphasized the band’s famously spontaneous creative process, noting, “you can never plan ahead — every time we’ve done that, it falls apart.” Yet despite the delay, he’s confident the album is on the horizon: “It’s coming … everybody is thinking about it.”
For fans, this marks the most substantive update since Guns N’ Roses dropped Chinese Democracy in 2008. The band has since released scattered new tracks, the most recent being “ABSUЯD”, but none as a full album. The return of full-length new material with Slash back in the fold would represent a milestone in the group’s storied legacy.
While there’s no release date yet, the excitement is real and building. With raw material gathering and creative energy high, GNR watchers are watching closely — it seems only a matter of when, not if.
