Shiloh Jolie Drops ‘Pitt’ from Her Name

Shiloh, the 18-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has officially requested to drop ‘Pitt’ from her surname. Court documents obtained by TMZ on Thursday reveal that she filed the paperwork on her birthday, May 27, seeking to be legally known as Shiloh Jolie.

This significant move comes on the heels of reports that Brad Pitt, 60, is eager to repair his strained relationship with Shiloh. According to sources, his other children—Vivienne, Zahara, and Maddox—also reportedly don’t use ‘Pitt’ as their surname, though they have not filed to legally change their names.

Shiloh’s request is pending approval due to the recent filing over Memorial Day weekend. Brad and Angelina share six children: biological kids Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, and adopted children Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19.

The Hollywood power couple began dating after Pitt’s high-profile divorce from Jennifer Aniston in 2005. They married in 2014, but Angelina filed for divorce in 2016, finalizing their single status in 2019. Despite this, their divorce battle continues, with reports of a strained relationship between Pitt and his children.

Earlier this month, a former bodyguard accused Jolie of attempting to poison the children’s bond with their father. A source close to Pitt revealed to DailyMail.com that he is hopeful about rebuilding his relationship with Shiloh now that she is legally an adult and can make her own decisions regarding their relationship.

“Now that Shiloh is 18, she can decide for herself how she wants her relationship with her father to develop,” the insider explained. The source noted that Jolie had previously ensured limited involvement of their children with Pitt, but that dynamic is changing with Shiloh’s adulthood.

Regardless of Shiloh’s decision, the source emphasized that Pitt will always love her unconditionally and is confident that they will rekindle their bond over time. Another source added that Pitt remains committed to his duties as a father and will always be available for his children.

With Shiloh’s legal name change, the evolving dynamics of the Jolie-Pitt family continue to captivate public interest, highlighting the complexities of family relationships in the spotlight.
