Sharon Osbourne Reflects on Ozzy’s Final Farewell and Lasting Legacy

Sharon Osbourne is paying tribute to her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne, following his emotional final concert and passing at age 76. Speaking with Pollstar, Sharon shared intimate memories of Ozzy’s last performance with Black Sabbath on July 5 in Birmingham, just days before his death.

“He told me, ‘I had no idea that so many people liked me,’” Sharon recalled, noting how Ozzy had always lived in “his own bubble.” The Villa Park concert, streamed for charity, was designed as a celebratory farewell. “It was the perfect way to say goodbye,” she said. “To go home to where it all started… it was just perfect.”

Ozzy died on July 22 from cardiac arrest, with additional complications from coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s. His funeral procession through Birmingham drew thousands of grieving fans, with his family—including Sharon and their children—visiting the Black Sabbath Bridge memorial to honor his life.

The couple, who first met in 1970 and married in 1982, shared over four decades of love, challenges, and iconic moments. From The Osbournes to their 2022 vow renewal, their bond endured.

Sharon called Ozzy her “soulmate” in a heartfelt 40th anniversary post—and now, the world says goodbye to its Prince of Darkness.
