Shaboozey Scores His Second Country Airplay No. 1 with “Good News”—and Fans Are Emotional

Shaboozey has marked another milestone: his single “Good News” has climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, becoming the Virginia-born artist’s second chart-topper. The song reached the summit this week after earning a remarkable 31.1 million audience impressions.

Co-written alongside Sean Cook, Michael Pollack, Sam Roman, Nevin Sastry, and Jake Torrey, “Good News” features on Shaboozey’s acclaimed album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going. That project still lingers near the top, having peaked at No. 2 on Top Country Albums and No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in mid-2024.

This No. 1 stretch comes on the heels of his record-setting crossover success with “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which dominated Country Airplay for seven weeks and rewrote chart history.

During a recent live show, a visibly moved Shaboozey fought back tears as he told fans: “If you’re going through something tough, just stick through it. Pray to God, believe in God.” His raw emotion highlighted how much this achievement means—not just for his career, but for anyone chasing light in dark times.

With two country radio No. 1s and such heartfelt storytelling, Shaboozey continues to cement his position as one of country music’s most authentic rising stars.
