According to nysenate.gov, Senator Sue Serino is inviting local Girl Scout troops to visit her Hyde Park office for a Girl Scout Open House in recognition of Women’s Equality Day, on Women’s Equality Day, Friday, August 26th from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.. The Senator is giving girls an opportunity to learn more about state government and the women who help make it work.
Senator Sue Serino is quoted in saying, “In recognition of Women’s Equality Day, I am thrilled to invite our local Girl Scouts to an Open House Event to learn more about how state government works and to help them understand the role they themselves can play, As someone who was never interested in politics or government until much later in my life, I want to create an opportunity for young girls to learn more about state government so they can start to consider ways to get involved early on. Local Girl Scout troops do an incredible job instilling confidence and teaching the leadership skills their scouts need to thrive, and it is my hope that together we can empower them to be the next generation of leaders.” Girls will have the chance to learn about State Government, tour the Hyde Park Office, and learn more about Serino’s path into becoming a State Representative. Those interested in attending must RSVP by calling 845-229-0106.
