Selma Blair Arrested After Alleged Altercation With Flight Attendants

Actress Selma Blair is facing legal trouble following a disturbing incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight that reportedly left two flight attendants injured and prompted an investigation by federal authorities.

The 54-year-old actress, widely recognized for her performances in *Cruel Intentions*, *Legally Blonde*, and *Hellboy*, was arrested Sunday, October 11, after a flight from Los Angeles International Airport arrived at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

According to authorities, Blair allegedly became physically aggressive toward members of the cabin crew during the flight. Reports indicate that one flight attendant was bitten while another sustained injuries during the confrontation.

Both crew members required medical attention, with one transported to a hospital for further evaluation.

Port Authority police responded to the aircraft shortly after it arrived at JFK around 11 p.m. Blair was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for medical assessment.

Her representatives subsequently explained that the actress had experienced a medical emergency during the flight. They confirmed that she received treatment following the aircraft’s arrival and was in stable condition.

The exact nature of the reported medical emergency has not been publicly disclosed.

The situation reportedly became more complicated after Blair left the aircraft. Law enforcement sources allege that she kicked a Port Authority police officer while being transported for medical treatment and later assaulted a nurse at the hospital.

Those allegations resulted in two counts of second-degree assault in Queens Criminal Court.

During a court appearance Monday, October 12, a judge set Blair’s bail at $20,000 in cash or $60,000 through a bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is January 19.

Federal authorities are also examining the events aboard the aircraft. The FBI issued a federal summons related to the alleged in-flight assault.

Delta Air Lines responded by reaffirming its commitment to passenger and crew safety and emphasizing that disruptive or unlawful behavior is not tolerated.

The incident has also drawn renewed attention to Blair’s personal health history.

The actress revealed in 2018 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a chronic condition affecting the central nervous system. Since then, she has spoken openly about her treatment, physical challenges, and efforts to manage the disease while continuing her career.

Her experiences were documented in the 2021 film *Introducing, Selma Blair*, which offered an intimate look at her medical journey.

However, authorities and Blair’s representatives have not established whether multiple sclerosis played any role in Sunday’s events. The cause of the reported medical emergency remains unknown.

This is not the first time Blair has experienced a highly publicized disturbance aboard an aircraft.

In 2016, she was removed from a flight arriving in Los Angeles after experiencing an episode that she later attributed to mixing prescription medication with alcohol. She subsequently apologized for her behavior and acknowledged the seriousness of the situation.

There is currently no verified indication that alcohol or medication contributed to the latest incident.

For Blair, whose career has included memorable film roles and a widely followed appearance on *Dancing with the Stars*, the arrest represents a significant personal and legal challenge.

The allegations also raise serious concerns about the safety of airline employees, two of whom reportedly sustained injuries while performing their duties.

As the case proceeds, investigators will continue examining the circumstances surrounding the flight, while Blair’s representatives have maintained that a medical emergency preceded the alleged behavior.

The criminal allegations remain unresolved, and Blair is entitled to the presumption of innocence as the legal process moves forward.
