ScHoolboy Q made his long-awaited return on yesterday, March 14th, with the first single in nearly three years with “Numb Numb Juice.” The track officially kicks off the rollout leading up to Q’s anticipated fifth studio album.
Production on the tune is handled by Chicago’s Nez & Rio, DJ Fu, and Hykeem Carter. The rapper rhymes acapella for the first six seconds, before the hard-hitting beat enters the picture. “Two-door coupe, hoppin’ out like Jack-in-the-Box, n—a/ I’m gon’ shoot if this 30’s all that I got, n—a/ Y’all on mute, ain’t no back-talk on my block, n—a/ Numb numb juice to the head, fuck up the opps, n—,” he raps.
Groovy Q delivered on his promise after initially teasing his return at the start of the week. “2 more days,” he seemingly wrote out of nowhere to social media. “Numb Numb Juice” plays off of the California slang for alcohol, which was a ‘90s reference turned more mainstream by artists like E-40.
