Get ready to straighten that Stetson and bolo because the 60th annual Academy of Country Music Awards has a date. The milestone ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas—the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. This will be the third consecutive year that the ACMs are held at this iconic venue.
Reba McEntire, a legendary figure in country music and television, will return to host the awards show for a record 18th time. McEntire, whose new NBC comedy Happy’s Place premieres on October 18, expressed her excitement: “I’m thrilled to be coming back to host the 60th ACM Awards on Prime Video. It’s going to be an absolute can’t-miss show, and I can’t wait to see everybody back in Texas.”
The 2022 ACMs made history as the first major awards show to stream live exclusively for a global audience on Prime Video. The streaming platform will continue its exclusive broadcast rights for the upcoming ceremony.
Next year’s ACMs will cover music released in the calendar year 2024, promising an intriguing mix of nominees. Notably, Beyoncé’s genre-blending album Cowboy Carter, which topped the all-genre Billboard 200 in April, will be eligible. Additionally, America’s current No. 1 single, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey, and the six-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen, will also be in contention.
At the 2024 ACM Awards, Lainey Wilson emerged as the big winner. She opened the ceremony with a rousing performance of Little Texas’s 1993 hit “God Blessed Texas” and her own “Hang Tight Honey.” Wilson took home three awards, including the prestigious Entertainer of the Year prize, further cementing her status as one of country music’s brightest stars.
