This week Sam Smith turns another year older, so let’s take a moment to reflect on what has been an already great run by him…
Smith turned 24 on Thursday, as he was born on May 19, 1992. He really came to fame when 2012 came, as he was a part of Disclosure’s hit single, “Latch.” This would push Smith to fame in the United Kingdom and nominations at a few of their major award ceremonies.
His debut single came out in 2014 and was titled “In the Lonely Hour.” He had five major hits on that album with the most widely known one being “Stay with Me.” Who could forget a voice like his after hearing that jam.
At the end of 2014 he was nominated for six Grammy Awards and would win four! What an honor it was for him to win Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Throughout his time as an artist, Smith has won hardware at the Academy Awards, American Music Awards, BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and JUNO Awards among many others.
Join us in wishing Mr. Sam Smith a happy 24th birthday this week!
