Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman’s Interaction Sparks Social Media Buzz

A brief but awkward interaction between actresses Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek at the Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week has become the subject of viral fan speculation. The encounter, which took place on September 30, has left fans wondering about the nature of the exchange after a video circulated on social media.

The Viral Video
In the video, Hayek, 58, is seen trying to guide Kidman, 57, to turn toward other cameras after they took a group photo with Katy Perry. However, Kidman appeared to push Hayek’s arm away and instead shifted her attention back to Perry. Hayek, who is married to François-Henri Pinault (owner of Balenciaga), looked visibly tense following the moment.

Shortly after, the two briefly exchanged words. Hayek could be heard telling Kidman, “Yes please. Advice.” Kidman responded, “You don’t need it,” to which Hayek replied, “I do.” The exchange left fans on X (formerly Twitter) divided, with many speculating on what exactly went down between the two stars.

Fans Weigh In
Some fans believe Hayek was merely trying to help Kidman, who has recently faced personal hardship following the passing of her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, at the beginning of September.

“Nicole looked out of it. It looked like Salma was trying to help her,” one person tweeted.
Another wrote: “She definitely seemed like she was bothered by Salma. Yikes.”
Other fans emphasized that they didn’t hear Kidman tell Hayek, “don’t touch me,” despite claims circulating on social media.

Post-Event and Social Media Aftermath
Despite the awkward moment, Hayek shared a photo on Instagram the following day, October 1, posing with Kidman at the Balenciaga show. In the photo, Kidman is smiling while looking down at the floor, while Hayek gazes directly at the camera.

The post also included photos of Hayek with Katy Perry and Lindsay Lohan, as well as solo shots showcasing her all-black ensemble.

“Finally last night the grand finale of my Paris Fashion Week 2025… Balenciaga and Demna for a terrific show,” Hayek captioned the post.

Kidman’s Personal Grief
Kidman’s appearance at Paris Fashion Week came just weeks after the death of her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, at age 84. The Big Little Lies actress left the Venice Film Festival early in early September due to her mother’s passing.

“The family is heartbroken and asks for privacy at this time,” Kidman’s rep said at the time.

Kidman later thanked fans on Instagram for their support, writing, “Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express.”
