Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend Hits Platinum: A Pop Power Move

Sabrina Carpenter is celebrating a major milestone with her seventh studio album Man’s Best Friend. Certified Platinum by the RIAA as of November 12, 2025, the album has officially entered the million‑units sold club in the United States. Released on August 29 via Island Records, the record opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with approximately 366,000 album‑equivalent units, including 224,000 in pure sales — marking the biggest female‑artist debut of the year. Internationally, the album also took the top spot in several major territories including Australia, Germany, the UK and Canada.

Musically, Man’s Best Friend builds on Carpenter’s pop roots while leaning into disco‑pop, funk, R&B and synth‑rock textures. Carpenter herself co‑produced the record with Jack Antonoff and John Ryan, bringing a sharper musical identity into focus. The visual rollout for the album stirred conversation: the cover art and promotional images feature provocative poses and themes of control and submission, sparking debate about empowerment versus objectification. Carpenter acknowledged the feedback and framed the work as “fun,” unapologetic and self‑aware.

In her response to the Platinum certification, Carpenter offered gratitude and a bit of tongue‑in‑cheek commentary, reflecting the tone of the album itself. With this achievement, Carpenter not only reinforces her commercial momentum but also signals a more confident and defined presence in the pop landscape.
