Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet tour continues to delight fans with unforgettable moments, and her Los Angeles stop at the Kia Forum on November 17 was no exception. The pop star surprised her audience by bringing Saturday Night Live cast member Marcello Hernández on stage, reprising his viral character Domingo for a hilariously charming cameo.
Domingo Takes the Spotlight
Carpenter, known for her playful stage antics, has a tradition of “arresting” a member of the audience before performing her song “Juno.” On Sunday night, Hernández, in character as Domingo, was the lucky “arrestee.”
In a viral TikTok video from the show, Hernández can be heard calling out to Carpenter from the crowd, saying, “Sabrina, I’m here!” Domingo, described as the “cute boy with the blue jacket and the thick accent,” introduced himself as hailing from “Miami, baby,” a nod to Carpenter’s lyrics from “Bad Chem.”
When Carpenter asked if Domingo had anything more to say, he broke into a comical impromptu song, crooning:
“Came all the way
Had to explain
Direct from Domingo
Sabrina’s a friend
She’s like my sis
But I would hook up though.”
The audience erupted in laughter and cheers as Carpenter, playing along with the bit, handed Domingo a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs to complete the scene.
A Viral SNL Connection
Domingo’s cameo wasn’t just a random bit of comedy—it tied into Hernández’s rising popularity as the character on Saturday Night Live. Domingo first appeared in the October 12 sketch “Bridesmaid Speech,” during an episode hosted by Ariana Grande. In the sketch, a group of bridesmaids hilariously expose the bride’s fling with Domingo, all set to the tune of Carpenter’s song “Espresso.”
Fans of both Carpenter and Hernández loved the crossover, and the character has since become a recurring favorite. Just a day before his appearance at Carpenter’s concert, Hernández brought Domingo back on the November 16 episode of SNL. This time, the setting was a baby shower, where it was revealed that the expecting mother also had a fling with Domingo, set to Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!”
Fan Reactions
The unexpected on-stage appearance of Hernández’s Domingo had fans buzzing across social media. The playful energy between Carpenter and Domingo highlighted Carpenter’s knack for blending music with humor and pop culture moments.
A Night to Remember
As Sabrina Carpenter continues her Short n’ Sweet tour, moments like these remind fans why she remains a standout performer. Bringing Domingo to life at her concert showcased her playful spirit and her ability to connect with fans through shared pop culture moments.
