After a decade of silence and the passing of their iconic drummer, Rush is staging a bold comeback. Founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have announced the “Fifty Something Tour”, set for summer 2026, with Anika Nilles stepping into the drum throne once held by the late Neil Peart. Lee and Lifeson described the decision to reunite as fraught but heartfelt: performing without Peart was once unthinkable, yet preserving and celebrating their legacy compelled them forward.
Nilles, a German drummer known for her technical sophistication and emotional depth, brings fresh energy while honoring Peart’s indelible influence. The tour is slated to begin June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with stops across Mexico, Texas, Illinois, New York, and Ontario, culminating in Cleveland.
Lee and Lifeson hinted they might bring on additional musicians to expand the live sound palette and allow more creative freedom on stage. For longtime fans and curious new listeners alike, this reunion promises a powerful tribute — not to resurrect the past, but to build a new chapter in Rush’s storied history, grounded in reverence, evolution, and musical daring.
