Rose McGowan didn’t ask to be connected at the hip for her role in the outing of media mogul Harvey Weinstein, she simply had heard enough. Rose was an early critic and ‘whistleblower’ of the sexual harassment tidal wave that has dominated the news in 2017.
Now, E! has announced that the network will create a five-part Documentary called ‘Citizen Rose,’ that chronicles the recent journey Rose has taken. Earlier in the year, Twitter suspended her account after going after Harvey, a decision that added fuel to the fire, eventually becoming part of the critical mass for the #MeToo movement. Rose has put herself out there without a safety net, criticizing Meryl Streep for her passive acceptance or suspected knowledge of the world Harvey had created and has ensured her ‘not guilty’ drug possession charge in November.
If you’re yearning for more Rose, her new memoir ‘Brave,’ is being released this week, and the E! documentary series to follow in January. Rose will produce and star in the E! project. Look for news of the two-hour kickoff shortly.
