During a recent London event celebrating the launch of the Buddy Holly biography Words Of Love: Buddy Holly, Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones voiced his apprehensions regarding the influence of technology on contemporary music. Reflecting on his band’s creative process, Wood remarked, “We were throwing s*** at the wall and some of it stuck.” He elaborated, expressing a sentiment that modern advancements may be diminishing the intrinsic human element in music: “There’s something about the technology I feel personally, we’re losing the essence of the heartbeat.”

Wood’s observations highlight a broader debate within the music industry about the balance between technological innovation and preserving the authentic, emotive qualities that define musical artistry. As digital tools become increasingly prevalent in production, artists and producers are challenged to integrate these resources without compromising the soulful essence that resonates with audiences.
