Rolling Stones in Cuba and More in Your Music Headlines

Here are your monday morning music headlines…

The Rolling Stones appeared in Cuba last week at the Ciudad Deportiva de la Habana, making music and political history. The open air concert was the first in Cuba by a British band.

It seems like every week someone finds a Beatles record or rarity. A 10-inch acetate of early Beatles “Till There Was You” on one side and “Hello Little Girl” on the other sold, found originally by Gerry and the Pacemakers keyboardist Les McGuire a few years earlier.

In 1970, rising star David Bowie recorded “To Be Love” only to be buried and unreleased by the label – until now. The classic Bowie tune can be downloaded online this week.

Birthdays this week include Jeff Porcaro from Toto, the Small Faces Ronnie Lane, Chad Allen from the Guess Who, the Moody Blues Graeme Edge, Eric Clapton, Mick Ralphs of Bad Company, “Jim Dandy” Mangrum – Black Oak Arkansas, and Angus Young from AC/DC.
