On Saturday, April 11th, rock legend Roger Waters joined the army of musicians paying tribute to late Americana legend John Prine by sharing a video of himself performing an acoustic rendition of “Paradise,” which appeared on Prine’s 1971 self-titled debut album.
Prine passed away on Tuesday, April 7th, due to complications from COVID-19 at 73 years old.
“My friend John Prine died. This is his song, ‘Paradise,’” Waters captioned the YouTube video. “Miss you, brother.”
In the week leading up to Prine’s death, after hearing about his hospitalization from coronavirus, Waters shared a video wishing the artist a healthy recovery.
“John Prine lives in all our hearts,” Waters captioned the March 29 tweet.
