Sir Rod Stewart is set to take center stage at the 2025 American Music Awards with a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award. The announcement, made Tuesday by CBS and Dick Clark Productions, marks a major moment for the 80-year-old rock icon, who will also deliver a special performance—his first at the AMAs in over two decades.
Stewart, whose enduring career spans six decades, is known for a legendary catalog that includes “Maggie May,” “Tonight’s the Night,” and “Forever Young.” With over 50 charting singles and 16 Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hits, he’s among the most celebrated artists in rock history.
“Sir Rod Stewart is a master showman whose charisma and energy have defied time,” said AMA producers Barry Adelman and Alexi Mazareas in a joint statement.
The AMAs, hosted by Jennifer Lopez and airing May 26 from Fontainebleau Las Vegas, will also honor Janet Jackson with the ICON Award. Other slated performers include Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Gloria Estefan, Benson Boone, Lainey Wilson, and Reneé Rapp.
Stewart’s summer plans include a stop at Glastonbury and performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace as part of his “One Last Time” world tour.
