Rockers come in all shapes and sizes, color and creeds. Did you know that KIIS’s Gene Simmons was born Chaim Witz in Israel? Let’s talk about rockers that come from all faiths. Some of them are sure to surprise you.
Lenny Kravitz, Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen, Mark Knopfler, Bob Dylan, Eric Carmen, Carole King, Lesley Gore, Bette Midler, David Lee Roth from van Halen, Susanna Hoffs from the Bangles, Carly Simon, Herb Alpert, Paul Simon, Michael Bolton, Neil Sedaka, Barry Manilow, Barbra Streisand, and Billy Joel were all born or raised Jewish.
Marc Bolan Leslie West, Geddy Lee from Rush, Paul Stanley, Joey Ramone, and Lou Reed were also born or raised Jewish. It’s hard to believe, but Bruce Springsteen was raised Catholic, as was Fergie and Bono.
To be politically correct, the following rockers are admitted Atheists: Eric Avery from Jane’s Addiction, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and Roger Waters, Linda Ronstadt, Marilyn Manson, and the late Frank Zappa.
