The 2016 Juno Awards occurred this weekend and there were many stars celebrated. This Canadian event was held in Calgary and is commonly known as the Grammys for Canadian music. It wasn’t just your average award show either. This award show was the first ever shown in 4K!
This event wasn’t just for pop and rap stars though. Rockers were in attendance at two big rock awards were given out: the Rock Album of the year and Alternative Album of the Year. The band, Braids, won the Alternative Album of the Year for their record titled “Deep in the Iris.” The Rock Album of the Year award went to Death From Above 1979 and their record “The Physical World.”
The event was quite huge, lasting two nights with the gala dinner happening on Saturday night. Many of the awards given out at the 2016 Juno Awards were done so at this gala dinner.
