Remembering Whitney – Part One

The Grammys were held a while ago, making us remember the tragic death of Whitney Houston as she passed away so close to the 2012 Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Let’s take a couple of days and remember her.

Although Whitney married singer Bobby Brown (many of Whitney’s relatives hold Bobby responsible for Whitney’s drug use and life ending lifestyle), Houston was romantically linked to NFL quarterback, Randall Cunningham, and comedian and actor Eddie Murphy.

Whitney Houston was a first cousin of singers Dionne Warwick and Dee Dee Warwick. Whitney is also related to disco star Thelma Huston. Whitney’s godmother was Darlene Love; her honorary aunt was Aretha Franklin.

There have been may renditions of the National Anthem, but the “The Star Spangled Banner” at Super Bowl XXV in Tampa, Florida is considered the best and generated the most recorded sales in that category. We’ll be honest – Lady Gaga’s was pretty darned good this past year as well.
