America celebrates its 4th of July today with parades, fireworks displays, concerts, great food, and lots of beers. We know that the good ole U.S.A. is a winning theme for music of all types, country music and its artists are steeped in the colors red, white and blues. It was difficult to recognize the songs worthy of this article give the great number of songs that we could have mentioned, but let’s check out the best patriotic songs of our time…
Toby Keith owns the 4th of July, with great songs like “Made in America,” “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” and “American Soldier” while Trace Adkins and “Arlington” are meant for today.
“God Bless The U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood is the best 4th of July song on God’s green earth in that it crosses the boundaries of color, money, and nationality. Tell us the last time you heard this song and didn’t tear up.
“American Made” is the wonderful tune by the Oak Ridge Boys that reminisces about America, the manufacturing center of the universe. You’ve got to love way life used to be.
Alan Jackson’s “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” is a classic July 4th tune you’ll surely hear today.
“This Ain’t No Rag (It’s A Flag)” by the legend Charlie Daniels keeps all those flags burning creeps at bay with a romantic look at old glory. Well done Charlie!
Finally, “The Star-Spangled Banner” should be considered the greatest patriot song in our lifetime. Francis Scott Key wrote the song, inspired by the defense of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. The anthem was officially used by our Navy in 1889. President Woodrow Wilson, by congressional mandate, made it our National Anthem in 1931.
