Recapping the Weekend’s Big College Football Action

The first weekend of college football is nearly complete with just one game left to enjoy, but we’re thinking this is still a great time to recap what we just witnessed. There were so many great games to watch that we’re sad the weekend is gone now. Let’s take a look back at the biggest and best games from the weekend…

Michigan was a big winner against Florida on Saturday. They beat Florida 33-17 and the game really shouldn’t have been that close. The Michigan quarterback threw two pick-sixes that gave Florida their only two touchdowns in the game.

Alabama won the biggest game of the day, taking down Florida State 24-7. The game wasn’t sexy, but any team you beat the number three team in the country it’s a big win. Alabama defended its number one ranking well, allowing just 40 yards on the ground in this one.

Maryland beat a ranked Texas team 51-41 on the backs of multiple special teams and defensive touchdowns. The Longhorns tried their best to stage a comeback, but it was too little too late in this one.

Other big winners from the weekend included LSU, Clemson, Kansas State, USC, Georgia, Auburn and Louisville among others.
