The first weekend of college football is officially over and boy did it live up to expectations. We had some huge matchups live up to their expectations and a few surprise games that came out of nowhere to make us jump up out of our seats. Let’s take a look back at some of the biggest games of the weekend.
Notre Dame lost a tough one in Austin on Sunday night, losing 50-47 in two overtimes. The two quarterback system didn’t work and it didn’t take long for the Fighting Irish to let Deshone Kizer take over. Unfortunately for them, Tyrone Swoopes and the rest of the Texas rushing attack was just too good.
Alabama made USC look like a high school team, beating them 52-6. In what was supposed to be a closer game, the Crimson Tide just rolled over USC.
Houston came out with a big upset, beating number three Oklahoma 33-23. Greg Ward Jr. and the Cougars offense did just enough to take the win. Speaking of upsets, how about LSU losing to Wisconsin? The number five team in the country, LSU, just couldn’t get their offense going and lost 16-14 in Wisconsin.
What a weekend it was for college football! We’re excited to see what week two has in store for us.
