Reba McEntire to Host ACM Awards: A Night of Tributes and Firsts
Reba McEntire is set to host Thursday’s Academy of Country Music Awards, promising an unforgettable evening of performances, including a tribute to the late Toby Keith. Taking the stage at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, McEntire will mark her 17th time as the show’s emcee.
“I love the award show because it’s almost like a family reunion,” McEntire recently told The Associated Press.
This year’s nominees feature a mix of veteran acts and rising stars, with Jelly Roll receiving his first ACM nominations. He’s up for entertainer of the year, male artist of the year, single of the year for “Need a Favor,” and music event of the year for “Save Me” featuring Lainey Wilson. Jelly Roll is the first artist since Billy Ray Cyrus in 1992 to be nominated for entertainer of the year in his first round of ACM nominations.
The festivities began ahead of Thursday’s event with the new artist of the year awards at Tuesday’s ACM Country Kickoff fan festival. Megan Moroney took home new female artist of the year, Nate Smith won new male artist of the year, and Tigirlily Gold secured the new duo or group award.

This Year’s ACM Awards Nominees
Luke Combs leads with eight nominations, including male artist of the year and entertainer of the year. Combs’ cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” earned a first-time nomination for Chapman in the song of the year category. Morgan Wallen and Megan Moroney follow closely with six nominations each, while Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson are tied with five. Jordan Davis and Jelly Roll each have four nominations.
Who’s Performing at the ACM Awards
Jason Aldean will perform a tribute to Toby Keith. “I’ve been a fan of his since the beginning, and his songs are some of the first I played back in clubs early in my career,” Aldean said in a statement.
Other performers include Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Post Malone, Parker McCollum, Johnson, McEntire, Wilson, and Stapleton. Fans can also look forward to collaborations featuring Kelsea Ballerini with Noah Kahan, Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, and Nate Smith with Avril Lavigne.
As the ACM Awards celebrate country music’s finest, McEntire’s presence and the night’s performances promise a memorable tribute to the genre’s past, present, and future.
