Queens of the Stone Age have announced the cancellation of all remaining 2024 tour dates as frontman Josh Homme continues to focus on his health. The band shared the difficult news via a statement on X (formerly Twitter), expressing that Homme has been advised to prioritize his well-being and undergo essential medical treatment for the rest of the year.
This decision comes shortly after the band had to cancel several European dates due to Homme undergoing emergency surgery. While the details of his recent surgery remain undisclosed, it’s evident that his recovery will require extended time and attention.
The cancellations affect several U.S. shows scheduled between September and November, including standalone concerts in Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Madison. The band has also pulled out of upcoming festival appearances in Memphis, Bridgeport, and Mexico City.
In July, the urgency of Homme’s health situation became clear when the band announced he needed to “return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery.” Despite their efforts to continue touring, it has now become impossible for them to proceed.
The band had been touring in support of their latest album, In Times New Roman…, released in July, marking their first studio effort in six years. Queens of the Stone Age have not yet announced any plans to reschedule the canceled dates but have expressed their deep gratitude to fans for their understanding and support during this challenging period.
