‘Quantum Leap’ Gets an Additional Episode Order From NBC

According to hollywoodreporter.com, Quantum Leap from showrunner Martin Gero has received an additional order for six additional episodes, bringing the season one tally to 18 episodes. Quantum Leap is the first freshman series of the 2022-2023 broadcast season to receive an extension to its season. The series originally launched on September 19th to 3.35 million viewers and after three episodes, the Universal Television drama is averaging just under 3 million total same day viewers. After NBC shifted its repeats of new and returning series from Hulu to Peacock, Quantum Leap is a top five title for the Comcast controlled streaming platform.

Raymond Lee, Ernie Hudson, Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park and Nanrisa Lee all star in the new drama series. Gero is serving as the showrunner and executive producers along with Dean Georgaris, original series creator Don Bellisario, Deborah Pratt, Chris Grismer, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt.

Original star, Scott Bakula, recently revealed on social media that he has zero connection with the new Leap despite having his image used for the pilot and being given the chance to serve as a producer, he declined to participate.
