After more than a decade, Clipse is reuniting with their long-anticipated album Let God Sort ‘Em Out. But amid the excitement, Pusha T is making it clear: one thing that won’t be revived is his friendship with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
In a candid new interview with GQ, Pusha opened up about the fractured relationship, revealing their fallout started well before Ye’s controversial 2022 rants. While Ye recently tweeted “I miss me and Pusha’s friendship,” Push made it clear—nostalgia isn’t enough.
Push described feeling isolated in Ye’s circle, saying he once believed they were working collectively, only to realize “everybody had their own agendas.” For him, it was about the music and the squad. For others, it wasn’t.
The Virginia rapper acknowledged Ye’s genius but added, “He knows I don’t think he’s a man… He’s showed me the weakest sides of him.”
Still, Push gives credit where it’s due: Ye returned his Def Jam profits, a move he says closed the door with “respect.” With Clipse moving forward and Ye in the rearview, Pusha’s focus is clear—no drama, just rap.
