According to hollywoodreporter.com, Discovery CEO David Zaslav described a plan to completely reset just days after he made the final call to shelve the $90 million dollar HBO Max film, Batgirl. He also stated that there will be a ten year plan for DC, however, who is on that team has not been clarified. Zaslac is quoted in saying, “We are going to focus on quality. We are not going to release any film before it’s ready,” DC is something we can make better.” The news was not handled well inside DC as DC president Walter Hamada nearly exited after hearing the news. He ended up being convinced to stay until at least the release of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam film release. Collaborators have received assurance that their projects will be safe, with projects such as Peacemaker’s Season 2 moving forward. Blue Beetle, with Xolo Maridueña as DC’s first Latino superhero to lead a film will also be set to release on its original release date in August of 2023.
