Post Malone Surprises Fans at Dwight Yoakam Concert with Country Collaboration

Over the weekend, Post Malone thrilled fans by making a surprise appearance at Dwight Yoakam’s concert at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, California. The unexpected collaboration saw Posty join Yoakam on stage to perform several classic hits, including “Little Ways,” “Guitars & Cadillacs,” “Fast As You,” and an encore of “It Won’t Hurt.”

This isn’t the first time Post Malone and Dwight Yoakam have shared the stage. They previously performed together on Dwight’s SiriusXM show, Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat, in 2018, and again earlier this year when Yoakam was a surprise guest during Post Malone’s set at Stagecoach.

The pair’s chemistry was evident as they performed, and Post even used Dwight’s band for viral video covers of Brad Paisley’s “I’m Gonna Miss Her” and “You Can Have the Crown” during Matthew McConaughey’s 2021 We’re Texas virtual benefit concert.

Interestingly, the crowd, which skewed older and more familiar with Yoakam’s work, may not have fully recognized the pop star. A TikTok video went viral showing a girl recounting how her parents described seeing “some hillbilly dude” playing with Yoakam, likely unaware it was Post Malone.

Despite their previous collaborations, Dwight Yoakam is not listed as a feature on Post Malone’s upcoming country album, F-1 Trillion. The album’s tracklist, accidentally leaked by Target, includes an impressive lineup of legends like Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Jr., and Tim McGraw, alongside current stars such as Billy Strings and Lainey Wilson.

Fans have already heard tracks with Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and Blake Shelton. This morning, Post Malone released “Guy For That” with Luke Combs and “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen, which has topped both the country charts and the Billboard Hot 100. He also released “Pour Me A Drink” with Blake Shelton and teased additional collaborations at a recent Nashville concert.

The highly anticipated album, featuring a diverse array of country artists, is set for release on August 16th.
