Post Malone and Shaboozey Make History with Dual Country Hits on Global Charts

In a groundbreaking moment for country music, Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” have both secured spots in the top 10 on Billboard’s global charts. This marks the first time that two country songs have simultaneously achieved this feat on the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.

“I Had Some Help” debuts at the top of the Global 200, amassing 119 million streams worldwide in the week ending May 16, according to Luminate. This track becomes Post Malone’s second No. 1 debut on the Global 200 within just four weeks, following his feature on Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight.” For Morgan Wallen, this marks his first No. 1, surpassing his previous peak at No. 5 with “Last Night.”

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” also climbs into the top 10, securing the No. 5 spot on the Global 200. This track is Shaboozey’s third entry on the global charts, following his collaborations with Beyoncé on her album Cowboy Carter.

On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, which excludes U.S. consumption, “I Had Some Help” debuts at No. 3, while “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” ascends from No. 13 to No. 10. These achievements mark only the third and fourth country songs to ever reach the top 10 on this chart, following earlier entries by Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

The success of these tracks is notable given the historical challenges country music has faced on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. The previous high for a country song on this chart was Wallen’s “Last Night,” which peaked at No. 82.

Furthermore, “I Had Some Help” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” have made appearances on 13 of Billboard’s Hits of the World charts. Post Malone’s track leads the charts in Norway and Ireland, while Shaboozey’s song maintains the top spot in Sweden.

These achievements reflect the evolving landscape of country music, as new artists leverage streaming platforms and social media to gain international traction. The crossover success of artists like Post Malone and Shaboozey exemplifies the genre’s expanding boundaries and growing global appeal.
