The NFL Draft is upon us and the excitement has only just begun! We have already seen trades involving the top two picks of the draft occur and we’re suspecting that there are more to come. There are teams out there that need more picks, depth, and talent, so moving from their current position could be in their best interest of the right deal is offered. Let’s take a look at a few teams that could be trading their first round pick Thursday night.
The Detroit Lions hold the 16th pick and while there will be plenty of talent there for the taking, Bob Quinn, the team’s new GM, comes from the New England Patriots, a team that loves to make deals on draft night. There are plenty of teams that need a quarterback and this range of picks is perfect for those looking to take a guy like Paxton Lynch, Connor Cook, or Christian Hackenberg.
The Atlanta Falcons have the 17th pick and once again are in a great spot for those wanting a quarterback. The Falcons would likely welcome deals because they only have five picks in this draft. The team needs more depth and talent and one of the best ways they can get that is by adding picks to this year’s draft.
The Cleveland Browns could be on the move again in this draft. They have made one smart move already moving back down in the draft to the eighth position and it might be smart to do it again. They are in a great spot either way with plenty of offensive talent like Ronnie Stanley, Ezekiel Elliot, and whatever quarterback their heart desires at this pick if they do decide to hold onto this selection.
