Polka dots have been an enduring pattern in fashion, but as Fashionista reports, a recent resurgence has the adorable print popping up even more this year. Polka dots have evolved from their vintage charm into a modern wardrobe essential, feeling both playful and presentable, with a bunch of covetable new-season pieces hitting the market — just in time to shop for the sunny months ahead.
According to data from platform Trendalytics, shopping searches for ‘polka dot’ items jumped 260% in January of this year compared to 2024, while searches for “polka dot dresses,” specifically, rose 52%. Suggesting the trend has yet to reach its peak, labels including Mithridate, Bora Aksu, Conner Ives and Keburia all showcased dotted designs in their Fall 2025 London Fashion Week collections, as did Fendi and Moschino in Milan.
Already, brands are catering to the trend as there’s been a 24% rise in market offerings according to the data platform. For example, Blondita’s mini dress went viral (with the help of Sabrina Carpenter and Devon Lee Carlson), as did Fait Par Foutch’s belt-adorned capri pant set.
But if the busy pattern’s a little too loud for you, segue into the trend with accessories, like a spotted handbag or skinny neck scarf (another Y2K staple quietly making a comeback). The pattern is inherently adorable and meant to have fun with, so don’t be afraid to clash patterns or combine with color.
