According to sports.yahooo.com, the Philadelphia Phillies are only on win away from the World Series. During the last matchup, the Phillies only got two outs from starter Bailey Falter, allowed four runs in the first, and then overwhelmed the San Diego Padres anyways, ultimately leading to a win, 10-6, giving them a 3-1 series lead. Rhys Hoskins went deep twice, Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto both added homers, and Bryce Harper had a double that put the Phillies ahead for good in the fifth inning.
Where Falter left after two outs, Philadelphia chased Padres starter Mike Clevinger before he got a single one. Hoskins started the counteroffensive with a two run shot in the bottom of the first. Bryson Stott’s RBI single got the Phillies even in the fourth inning, but Juan Soto answered for the Padres with a two run homer. Hoskins’ second homer tied the game again in the bottom of the fifth, and the Phillies kept on hitting. Realmuto was walked, and then Harper got a go ahead double reaching second and screaming towards the dugout. He is now batting .410 in this postseason. Harper then scored on a Nick Castellanos single, and Realmuto and Schwarber added with solo homers later on.
