Sunday was a big day in playoff hockey with two teams clinching a birth in the next round of the playoffs. The Penguins and Predators both had to win on the road to do so and that’s exactly what they did.
The Penguins were down against the Flyers for a decent bit of the game Sunday but used a four-goal third period to really open it up. The star of the game was Jake Guentzel, who scored three times in the win. The Penguins will play the winner of the Capitals and Blue Jackets series.
The Nashville Predators went on the road to Colorado to face off against the Avalanche and this game was not close from the start. They scored two goals in each of the first two periods and never looked back. They would win 5-0 with five different players scoring. They will be playing against the Winnipeg Jets in round two.
There are the two games tonight with the Bruins and Maple Leafs facing off and the Capitals and Blue Jackets playing as well.
