Patty Jenkins‘ ‘Wonder Woman 3’ Not Moving Forward

James Gunn and Peter Safran are expected to meet next week with David Zaslav, the Warner Bros. Discovery CEO who is reshaping the media company and hired the duo in October to lead a newly launched film and TV division. The pair will give Zaslav their plan expected to lay out their vision. Much of their plan is still hidden, however, it is reported that Wonder Woman 3 is not moving forward and is considered dead in its current version.

With costs not a factor, insiders report that DC Studios could save tens of millions of dollars through not making the third installment. Gadot, was on track to make $20 million off of the third installment while Jenkins would have made around $12 million. The rest of DC seems to be up in the air as there are several rumors and possible scenarios to consider ahead of next week’s meeting.

One change that may be considered is the closing of the Snyderverse, and heroes cast by filmmaker Zack Snyder for his Justice League. Which would see the shutting down of Man of Steel 2 and no more Aquaman. These character are also supposed to cameo in Flash, time travel adventure movie that is set for release on June 16th.

According to several sources, Momoa could emerge as a pivotal figure into their new plans, in one scenario, the actor may wrap up his time as Aquaman with Lost City, due out December 25th, 2023, which would be the final movie released that was made by the prior regime. However, sources say the actor would lead another movie or franchise. One suggestion is the character of Lobo, a foul mouthed cigar smoking intergalactic bounty hunter, that has been mentioned in connection with Momoa. Either way, Lobo seems to be emerging as a rising character early on and may point to the types of characters the Gunn-Safran team may look to focus on.
