Pat Benatar, Duran Duran Among Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Inductees, Judas Priest Recognized in “Musical Excellence”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has just announced a big welcome to the Class of 2022.

This year’s list of inductees includes first-time nominees Duran Duran, Eminem, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, and Dolly Parton, as well as previously nominated performers Pat Benatar and the Eurythmics.

Judas Priest was among the nominated artists but did not get into the Hall this year. Instead, they are receiving the Musical Excellence Award, which is given to “artists, musicians, songwriters, and producers whose originality and influence creating music have had a dramatic impact on music.”

“This diverse group of inductees each had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture and helped change the course of rock ‘n’ roll,” said Rock Hall chairman John Sykes. “Their music moved generations and influenced so many artists that followed.”
