Packers Hope Luke Combs Concert Kicks Off Revival of Big Events at Lambeau

The Green Bay Packers are rolling out the welcome mat for major concerts again — beginning with Luke Combs’ upcoming show at Lambeau Field. The team sees the May 16, 2026 concert as a catalyst to bring more large-scale events to the legendary stadium.

Under new leadership, including president Ed Policy, the Packers’ goal is to diversify stadium activity beyond football. “Our goal … is to bring more events here,” said Gabrielle Dow, vice president of marketing and fan engagement. Combs’ show will mark the first non-Packers event in the same year as a major football matchup — with Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame scheduled for September 6.

But bringing concerts back is no simple feat. The field’s grass must be closely guarded, and only a narrow window in May and June is viable — later summer dates often clash with the football season or risk damaging turf. In fact, some high-profile acts have declined due to scheduling conflicts with Lambeau’s restrictive availability.

While Combs is likely to be the sole concert in 2026, the Packers are quietly pursuing other events further out. With the groundwork now laid, the city of Green Bay may soon host more stars — if the schedules and soil cooperate.
