Oreo’s new Firecracker Pop cookies are inspired by the nostalgic frozen treat and layer blue raspberry, lemon, and cherry flavored creme between two Golden Oreo cookies. The delicious result might just give you flashbacks to running after the ice cream truck as a kid. And, as Delish reports, the colorful striped filling also makes this particular iteration stand out the second you open the package.
Oreo has been pretty busy lately. Last year, the brand brought back its fan-favorite Blueberry Pie flavor, and earlier this year, it released color-changing cookies in collaboration with Marvel. Add in the new zero-sugar version, collaborations with Krispy Kreme, and even Oreo muffins, and it’s clear the company has been keeping itself booked.
The new patriotic-themed flavor will be available at retailers nationwide beginning May 4, while supplies last. And judging by the reaction online, fans are more than ready. When the brand announced the cookies on social media, one person wrote, “This actually gave me the giddiest feeling.”
“Say less… adding to cart immediately,” commented another. “Oreo always doing the most .. in the best way possible 😂👏,” one eager customer wrote. “I’ll HAVE to try these!” added one person, while another chimed in with, “Oh we’re so ready for this!”
If you have even a little bit of nostalgia for those red, white, and blue freezer-aisle pops, these will be very hard to resist.
