Oregon Scores Big on Fourth of July with Dakorien Moore’s Commitment

Oregon landed a major recruiting win on the Fourth of July, securing a commitment from five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore on Thursday night. The Ducks beat out Texas, LSU, and Ohio State to snag the top uncommitted prospect in the 2025 class.

Moore, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound pass-catcher from Duncanville, Texas, is ranked as the No. 3 overall recruit in the 2025 ESPN 300. This commitment marks a significant achievement for Oregon, as Moore becomes the highest-rated prospect in Dan Lanning’s incoming class and the program’s most prized recruit since landing Kayvon Thibodeaux, the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2019 class.

Moore is a two-time Texas 6A Division I state champion with Duncanville High School. He initially committed to LSU in August 2023 but reopened his recruitment in May 2024. Despite remaining a top target for LSU, Moore took official visits to Ohio State, Texas, and Oregon before making his final decision.

Moore’s decision to join the Ducks is a significant victory for head coach Dan Lanning and wide receivers coach Junior Adams. As he prepares for his senior season at Duncanville High, Moore brings an impressive track record, having caught 44 passes for 764 yards and six touchdowns during his sophomore season in 2022. He followed up with a standout junior year, amassing 1,532 yards on 71 receptions with 18 touchdowns, helping Duncanville to another state championship.

Moore’s commitment boosts Oregon’s already impressive 2025 recruiting class, joining top offensive talents such as four-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson, quarterback Akili Smith Jr., running back Jordon Davison, and athlete Dierre Hill. The defensive side is equally strong, featuring athletes Dorian Brew and Brandon Finney, along with linebacker Nasir Wyatt.

With Moore’s addition, Oregon’s 2025 class is now ranked 22nd nationally by ESPN, positioning the Ducks as a formidable force in the upcoming recruiting season.
