According to billboard.com, two years ago Tom Cruise asked Ryan Tedder a question over zoom, “What do you hear?.” The actor showed the producer and OneRepublic frontman a rough cut of the dogfight football scene from Top Gun: Maverick and Tedder responded, “I said, ‘I hear a little Beach Boys… Gorillaz… and this kind of whistle thing,’ ” Tedder eventually turned the whistling melody into OneRepublic’s latest hit, “I Ain’t Worried.” The song originally premiered in May in the film and has since achieved the band their biggest hit song in almost a decade. The track has climbed up to the number 27 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 (charts dating July 30th).
