Even though the band is currently on hiatus, One Direction is up for two awards at the Billboard Music Awards that will be happening on May 22. The nominations were announced earlier this week, but this award show is too big to not dig deep into. Let’s take a look at the two awards the band that is no more will be up for in Las Vegas.
It’s no surprise that One Direction is up for Top Duo/Group, but we must wish them luck. This category is stacked! Maroon 5, Twenty One Pilots, U2, and The Rollin Stones are also up for this prestigious award.
For Top Touring Artist, we see One Direction have to face off against similar faces and some even bigger ones. Does it get bigger than Madonna and Taylor Swift? These two are up for the award to go along with The Rolling Stones and U2.
It’ll be really intriguing to see how the former band mates go through with this award show considering there hiatus and it will definitely be something to watch when the BBMAs roll around.
