Olivia Rodrigo Laughs Off Trapdoor Fall During Guts World Tour Stop in Australia

Even pop stars aren’t immune to the occasional stage mishap. Olivia Rodrigo gave fans a memorable moment during her Melbourne show on Sunday, Oct. 13, when she accidentally fell through a trapdoor mid-performance at Rod Laver Arena.

“That Was Fun! I’m OK”
Rodrigo, 21, had just started performing when she suddenly vanished from the stage, triggering gasps from the audience. Fortunately, she bounced back quickly, joking about the unexpected fall.

“Oh my God, that was fun! I’m OK,” Rodrigo said, laughing as she pulled herself up. “Wow, sometimes there’s just a hole in the stage. That’s alright!”

Taking a breath to regain her composure, the “Vampire” singer asked the crowd, “OK, where was I? How’re we doing tonight, Melbourne?” She resumed her set and powered through the remainder of the concert without further incident.

A TikTok-Worthy Moment
Later, Rodrigo poked fun at the mishap by sharing a clip of the tumble on TikTok, captioning it with a playful, “#subtleforeshadowing.”

The Melbourne concert was one of several dates in the Australian leg of Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour. She has one more performance scheduled in Melbourne and four in Sydney before wrapping up her first-ever world tour.

Concert Film Premieres October 29 on Netflix
Fans unable to attend Rodrigo’s tour in person won’t have to wait long to experience the show. Her upcoming Netflix concert special, Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour, will launch on October 29.

Filmed at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the special offers a behind-the-scenes look at Rodrigo’s sold-out performances, featuring hits from her sophomore album, Guts, and debut album, Sour.

“I’m so excited to share the GUTS World Tour with my fans,” Rodrigo said in a statement. “For those who couldn’t make it in person, now you’ll have the best seats in the house!”

Rodrigo’s Tour to Continue in 2025
Although her 2024 tour ends after the Australian shows, Rodrigo’s break will be brief. In March 2025, she’ll resume touring with performances at Lollapalooza festivals in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil, followed by a stop at Colombia’s Festival Estéreo Picnic.

The tour will conclude in the UK with two shows in Manchester on June 30 and July 1, ensuring that Rodrigo’s whirlwind journey will span continents and months before wrapping up.
