Actress Olivia Munn has voiced criticism regarding the upcoming all-female Blue Origin spaceflight, which includes celebrities such as Katy Perry and Gayle King. During an appearance on “Today With Jenna And Friends,” Munn questioned the mission’s purpose and the extensive publicity surrounding it. She remarked, “What are they doing? I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now. What are you guys gonna do up in space? What are you doing up there?”
Munn further expressed concerns about the financial aspects of such endeavors, noting, “It’s so much money to go to space, and there’s a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs.” She labeled the mission as “gluttonous,” emphasizing that space exploration should aim to advance knowledge and benefit humanity. Munn questioned, “What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride?”
This perspective has ignited discussions about the role of celebrity involvement in space travel and the allocation of resources toward such high-profile missions.
