Offset Keeps TakeOff’s Name Alive With Latest Tribute

Offset is still mourning the loss of TakeOff, and has introduced a tradition to live shows in order to keep his groupmate’s name alive. On Sunday, December, 11th, Offset posted footage on his Instagram showing that he plans on starting off his shows with a tribute to TakeOff, who was shot and killed in Houston, Texas in November. The footage shows a photo of TakeOff projected onto the on stage screen as The Jackson 5’s “Never Can Say Goodbye” plays through the venue speakers.

Offset captioned the footage, “Before every show I love you bra.” He also captioned a post from in November, “Dear Take, doesn’t feel real posting you like this….This still doesn’t feel like reality. I’ve been searching for the right words to say, but there aren’t any that will suffice. Until we meet again, Rest In Power. I love you. I wish I could hug you one last time. Laugh one last time. Smoke one last time. Perform one last time. I know someone with a soul like yours is in heaven now.”

According to reports, Quavo was involved with a dice game outside Houston’s 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley when he started arguing after losing money to two individuals. A Harris County Medical Examiner stated in TakeOff’s autopsy report that he had died of “penetrating gunshot wounds of head and torso into arm.” He was laid to rest at 28 years old, with a celebration of life ceremony that was held at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on November 12th in front of 21,000.
