Now Enjoy the Allman Brothers ‘Fillmore East February 1970’

The Allman Brothers Band’s ‘At Fillmore East’ in 1971 is still considered one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded. Now we’ll be able to have something to compare this iconic LP too, as the album ‘Fillmore East February 1970’ has just been released.

‘Fillmore East February 1970’ is taken from the seven live performances the Allman Brothers played with The Grateful Dead and Love from February of 1970. The tracklist for ‘Fillmore East February 1970’ include the legendary songs “Whipping Post,” “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed,” “Mountain Jam,” and “Hoochie Coochie Man.”

One interesting technical point – the entire session was recorded by the iconic Grateful dead engineer Owsley “Bear’ Stanley (who died in a car accident in 2011). In fact, Greg, Duane, Butch, and Berry have all passed on, leaving only Dickie Betts and Jaimoe from the original member’s roster.
